"Where the Eagles Soar"Ask anyone who has ever been to Waterloo and first they will tell you of the beautiful drive, then most often they will tell of the biggest fish they ever caught or how many deer they saw or the wild turkeys they hunted! Whether its camping, hunting, or fishing this is the best kept secret in Alabama. Until that is, September comes around and we are host to many, many thousands of people that come to help commemorate the final stage in the "Trail of Tears". We have literally thousands of people and motorcycles converge on this small town of 250. But the townspeople love every minute of it and do their best to accommodate our visitors. The Town of Waterloo is located in the Northwest corner of Alabama. We are 25 miles west of Florence, Alabama. As you can see from the photo below the entrance into Waterloo is a picturesque drive along the Tennessee River. If you look directly across the river as you drive in, you will see East Port, Mississippi. Our MissionTo enhance the quality of life for the citizens of Waterloo by giving them a safe and secure environment in which to live; and to provide our guests with the down home family atmosphere that all who have come to Waterloo have learned to expect. We want to improve our services and offer our citizens all the advantages of the bigger cities, while maintaining the small town closeness that we all are accustomed to. We want our town as attractive and efficient as possible to the present and future citizens. |
